Vermont's Global Melting Spot

Diversity is at the heart of Table & Thaw because it is at the heart of Winooski itself. As Vermont’s most culturally diverse city and one of Northern New England’s most densely populated communities, Winooski brings together people, food and traditions from around the world within an unusually compact, walkable downtown. Table & Thaw celebrates that identity by inviting local restaurants to serve as cultural ambassadors, sharing food, traditions, stories and experiences with residents and visitors.

The festival is designed to be accessible across ages and income levels. Circle Park will serve as a free community gathering space with entertainment and activities, allowing people to participate without purchasing a festival passport. Ticketed food experiences provide additional opportunities to explore participating restaurants throughout downtown. Family-friendly daytime programming and an energetic but still all-ages evening experience will broaden the event’s appeal.

Rather than creating an event for one particular demographic, Table & Thaw creates a shared table where Winooski’s many cultures, longtime Vermonters and visitors from outside the community can experience and celebrate the city together.
